Grand Opening
Capturing the story
I grew up drawing. When my family stayed at hotels, I used to go into the housekeepers closet and steal pads of paper and pen to draw. Not that my family wouldn't buy me that materials, but I liked my own supply. After high school, I stopped drawing for an extended period.
Then, in my early 30's, I had open heart surgery (due to my genes and my interests fine foods, drinking, smoking, and non-interest in exercise). So, after my initial recovery, I took up painting to relax.
The majority of my work is inspired by people, places or stories. In the first 25 years of painting, all of it was for friends or the household. Always giving away my work as I honed in on my skills.
My favorite artist is Van Gosh, loving the colors and the thought provoking scenes of his life. Paintings never looking like real life stills, but working to capture the scene, personality, event.
I prefer to do customized art that will mean something to the owner. areas like oceans, sports venues, and concert arenas.
My commission work is primarily through viewing photography where I work to capture metaphors using props and styling. I would be delighted to discuss your next piece of art!
